Registered Nurse (Med Surg/Telemetry)

Location: Show Low, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week guaranteed (with up to 3 cancellations)

Job Description

• Work on a 24-bed MedSurg unit with Telemetry capability on all beds; heavy focus on Telemetry patients
• Patient population: Adults only (Pediatrics assigned to permanent staff)
• Float to all MedSurg units and ICU (taking MedSurg overflow patients)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • 1:5 during day shifts
  • 1:6 during night shifts
• Support staff available on unit includes Telemetry techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist coverage 24/7
• Respiratory Therapist and Pharmacy available 24/7
• No IV team on site; nurses manage IVs themselves
• EMR system: Sunrise Allscripts
• Scrub color: any color except all black; scrubs not provided

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience
• Current RN license for Arizona
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• PALS certification preferred but not required
• Strong neuro and cardiac nursing skills essential

• This is a travel nursing opportunity in a regional hospital located in the White Mountains of Arizona, offering access to outdoor activities and proximity to Flagstaff and Phoenix.
• Nurse managers do not provide direct patient care but perform rounds.
