Contract

• 13 weeks
• Nights
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend
• Holidays rotate as needed

Unit Details

• Medical-surgical telemetry orthopedic unit
• 34 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
• First to float

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS certification
• RN license
• Must be able to titrate heparin drips
• Must be able to manage nitro, insulin, low-dose dopamine, and dobutamine drips within a small titration range

Patient Population

• Total joints
• Cardiac rule-out
• Pneumonia
• Psych
• General surgery post-op

Floating

• May float to med tele, PCU, ICU, or ER holding to care for med-surg acuity patients
• May also be required to float within the region to other listed hospitals

Equipment / Clinical Support

• CPAP
• BiPAP
• High-flow oxygen
• Telemetry monitoring

Additional Details

• No call or standby
• Any color professional scrubs
• Epic experience is not required; experienced staff may test out of Epic
• Unit orientation includes meeting with the unit educator and one full shift orientation
