Overview

• 9-week contract
• Location: Renton, Washington
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours
• Hours per week: 48

Unit Details

• 55 beds total, plus 8–12 swing beds
• 4 trauma bays
• Fast track is available, known as AC (accelerated care)
• Separate triage area in the lobby
• Separate psych/seclusion rooms
• 4-zone department

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of ER experience
• 1+ year of trauma experience
• Prior travel experience
• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS
• PALS
• TNCC
• Epic experience
• No first-time travelers
• No license hits involving diverting meds or endangerment

• None stated

Responsibilities / Clinical Expectations

• May be asked to do triage after additional triage orientation and competency testing
• RNs manage their own holds
• RNs are required to transport critical patients
• RNs draw ABGs and set up small-dose breathing treatments
• RNs and MSTs perform ECGs
• RNs and MSTs do phlebotomy
• Royal blue scrubs for nursing

• STEMI
• Stroke
• DKA
• Sepsis
• Trauma
• Respiratory diseases
• Behavioral health

Scheduling

• Every other weekend
• Holidays required
• No call or standby
• Variable scheduling

Orientation

• First day with ED leadership and badging
• 2–3 shifts orienting bedside

Additional Notes

• 250 patients per day
• Ratios: 4:1 for main ED, 5:1 for accelerated care, 2:1 for critical care
• In-house security is present
• Monitor techs are present for psych/seclusion rooms
