Job Description

• Provide safe patient care using nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Deliver direct patient care within scope of practice in the ICU.
• Guide patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care.
• Responsible and accountable for assigned patients' care.
• Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient condition, hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic results, and symptoms.
• Respond quickly and accurately to patient condition changes or treatment responses.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Must be available to work weekends.

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid California RN license.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a staff RN in acute care hospital critical care setting.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• COVID-19 vaccination and boosters preferred.
• CCRN (Critical Care RN) certification preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Onboarding & Credential Requirements

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • RN License (Nursys verification)
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • CCRN preferred (not mandatory)
  • DCI/BVP (Workplace Violence Prevention)
• Health & Safety:

  • COVID-19 vaccine and booster or declination completed
  • Influenza vaccine or declination (seasonal)
  • MMR (proof of immunity)
  • Varicella (proof of immunity)
  • Tdap (required in some states)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination (declinations not accepted at some facilities)
  • TB test
  • Annual respirator fit test
  • Drug screening (minimum 10-panel including THC saliva test for CA) within 60 days of start
  • Physical/Health statement (clear to work) within 60 days of start
• Testing & Exams:

  • Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam (80%+ score)
  • Prime Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening (80%+ score)
  • Prime Core Competencies Exam (80%+ score)
  • Prime Specialty Exam (80%+ score)
  • Prime Skills Checklist
• Professional Requirements:

  • Criminal background check (national, within 1 year)
  • Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9)
  • Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (valid for 2 years)
  • Prime Agency Attestation
  • Prime SAM/EPLS exclusion search
  • Driver’s license, State ID, or Passport
  • Prime Orientation Packet (Essentials form and post-test)

• Additional:

  • Prime Color-blind test (annual)
  • Prime Resume and 2 professional references required for submission

Additional Notes

• Must be able to work weekends.
• COVID vaccination and boosters are preferred but may allow declination with documentation.
• Fit testing must be completed prior to start if not available onsite.
• Drug screening for California includes both urine (excluding THC) and saliva THC testing due to state law.
• Some vaccinations and declinations may not be accepted depending on facility policies.
