Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health (Days)
Location: Brattleboro, Vermont
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Float position: Must be willing to float to all units including adolescents and adults.
- Start date is fixed and mandatory.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to identify individual and group needs and interventions.
- Utilize the nursing process to meet the needs of patients requiring complex nursing care.
- Provide clinical supervision of Mental Health Workers (MHWs) to ensure safe and therapeutic care delivery.
- The program offers 24-hour care focused on co-occurring disorders, including medically assisted drug and alcohol withdrawal, stabilization, and education to support recovery.
- Treatment includes managing co-occurring psychiatric issues such as Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Anxiety Disorders.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years as an RN, with inpatient psychiatric experience within the last 3 months (Long-term care experience not accepted).
- Psych/Behavioral Health experience with all age groups must be clearly listed on the resume.
- Must be willing to float to other units and take charge shifts.
- First-time travelers will be considered.
- Active Vermont or Compact RN license required.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Psych skills checklist from within the last year required.
- Two supervisory references from the last 2 years of employment required.
- Resume must include psych experience and all age groups served.
- Must be able to start on the specified date without exceptions.
Additional Information
- Return to Office (RTO) blackout dates apply; RTO cannot exceed 7 days.
- CPI training is offered onsite; confirmation required at submission.
- Candidates must include their address or driver's license in the submission packet; those living within 35 miles of the facility will be subject to a rate adjustment.
- The area is rural with limited housing and public transportation options; candidates should plan accordingly.
- Overtime is paid at the base rate; holiday and callback shifts are paid at 1.25x with a minimum of 2 hours for callback.
- Orientation includes 8 hours of nonbillable time.
- The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract.
