Registered Nurse (RN) - Temp Position

Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide and manage patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team using the nursing process.
• Unit patient ratio: 1:6
• Bed size: 130
• Telemetry reads required
• Administer drips including heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, digoxin
• May float to Behavioral Health (BH), Emergency Department (ED), ICU, and some post-procedural areas
• Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year’s, or Thanksgiving)
• Limit of 1 day off request between 11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26 for all travelers regardless of holidays worked

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years experience in Med Surg, Telemetry, or Med/Tele with float experience as noted
• First-time travelers accepted with at least 3 years of nursing experience
• Comfortable and confident reading EKG/ECG including telemetry duties (rhythm strips, dysrhythmia reads)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must complete Basic Dysrhythmia Assessment with a passing score of 80% during onboarding

Certifications Required

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS
• MOAB
• NIHSS
• De-Escalation certificate (CPI, MOAB, MAB)

Licensing

• Iowa RN license required
• Compact license allowed
