Registered Nurse — Labor & Delivery

Location

  • New Lenox, Illinois

Schedule

  • Nights
  • 12-hour shifts

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
  • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred

  • Travel experience

Role Overview

  • Provides labor and childbirth care for women
  • Monitors mother and baby
  • Coaches mothers during labor
  • Assists physicians
  • Prepares patients and families for the stages of childbirth
  • Supports breastfeeding after birth

Unit Details

  • Birthing center averages 200 births per month
  • Labor and delivery patient ratio: 2:1
  • Delivery or C-section patient ratio: 1:1
  • Epidurals and IV Pitocin patient ratio: 2:1
