Special equipment: Belmont in trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, rapid infuser, Lucas for cardiac arrests

Schedule

Shift: 3x12 nights (19:00–07:30), 36 hours per week
Weekends: Every other weekend required
Holidays: Required as they fall, as scheduled
Floating: Required within the specialty as needed
On-call: Scheduled on-call not required

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Maryland
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
3 years of experience in the Emergency Department (ED)
ED experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification, must be updated annually
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Experience with Epic

Conditional Certifications (per unit description)

NRP (AHA/AAP only), CHEMO, EFM, STABLE

Pre-Start Requirements

Health: Physical exam within 1 year of start; fit test within 1 year, updated annually; TB screening (QuantiFERON or T-SPOT negative within 1 year, or 2 PPDs, or a 2-step PPD if no PPD within 1 year), updated annually; rubeola, mumps, rubella, and varicella titer or 2 vaccines; hepatitis B titer or declination; negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start; flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption documentation for the 2026–27 season (10/1–3/31), due by 12/1 for working travelers; labs completed within 72 hours of contract signing
Background: 7-year criminal search within 30 days of start, updated annually; EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start; Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start; education verification; 5-year work history verification (attestation accepted if necessary)
Licensure verification: Primary source verification; NURSYS verification required for RNs
References: Two supervisory references within 1 year of start (charge RNs or supervisors/managers acceptable)
Employment application: Must be completed within 30 days of start
Work authorization: I-9 and E-Verify or attestation required; government-issued photo ID required
Documents: Badge photo (head and shoulders, solid white or beige background); badge application within 72 hours of signing; confidentiality agreement and RN job description signed before start; latex allergy questionnaire; facility training test-out form, time sensitive
Other: Review dress code before start; Tdap not required for ER RN unless the role is Peds ER
