Job Description
Seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technician with a focus on Interventional Radiology (IR) and coronary experience. The role involves working in a busy Cath Lab environment with approximately 20-35 cases per day. The Cath Lab consists of 7 rooms including Interventional Radiology, Electrophysiology (EP), Hybrid suites, and Cath rooms.
Work Schedule:
- Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (3x12 shifts may be considered)
- Weekend coverage every 5-6 weeks (5-6 weekend shifts per contract)
- Weeknight call coverage 1 day per week from 5:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Call coverage includes Stroke & STEMI cases (Cath Lab & IR)
Additional Notes:
- No first-time travelers accepted unless extensive background and cath lab experience
- EPIC electronic health record experience preferred
- No local candidates considered
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Arizona
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment as a Cath Lab Technologist
- Cath Lab Technologist experience
- Current certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ARRT or RCIS certification
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Current Driver’s License/State ID with correct name and address
- Background checks including county, state, and national searches (must be current)
- Various certifications including ACLS, BLS, and others as applicable
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by physician, NP, or PA
- Fit testing for N95 mask within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of vaccination or positive titer, no declinations)
- Hepatitis B (vaccination or positive titer, declinations allowed with form)
- Varicella (proof of vaccination or positive titer, no declinations)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 3 months of start
- Drug testing within 30 days of start (12 panel)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30)
- Pass/fail testing including EKG and medication competency as required
- HIPAA competency updated annually
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification
- Medication and specialty competency exams with passing score of 80% or higher
- References: 2 professional references from employment within last 3 years, including 1 supervisory reference
- Employment application with detailed work history for last 7 years (gaps over 30 days must be explained)
- Skills checklist updated annually
