Job Description
- Work schedule options include block scheduling: 6 days on, 8 days off, or every weekend Friday through Sunday.
- Required to work 50% of holidays.
- Floating assignments include ICU Cluster and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units (1:4 ratio).
- Unit is an 18-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU/CVICU) caring for highest acuity patients with specialty equipment.
- Physical demands include ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs.
- Exposure to contagious illnesses is routine.
- Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
- Rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather are required.
- Essential functions include ability to work full contract term, assigned shifts, take call, work assigned weekends, and work at least half of the holidays during the contract.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and international checks if applicable.
- State-specific background searches and caregiver screening as required by Missouri regulations.
- Verification of licensure through primary source within 60 days of start.
- Drug screening: Negative 7-panel drug test within 60 days of start.
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Physical exam within 1 year.
- Fit mask test within 1 year (specific mask types required).
- Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption.
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year; positive TB requires additional documentation.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination.
- Hepatitis B series or positive titer required; declinations not accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023.
- Varicella immunity or vaccination.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season.
- Photo for badge (new candidates only).
- Completion of facility-specific forms including confidentiality agreements and caregiver registry forms.
- References: Two professional references within the last 2 years.
- Resume must document at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days.

- Active role requiring physical activity including ambulation and lifting.
- Exposure to contagious diseases.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-acuity critical care environment.
- Facility open 24/7 with rotating shifts and holiday coverage.
