Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Location: Omak, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: Weekdays, some weekends
Facility & Unit Overview
- Critical access hospital with 25 beds
- Level IV Trauma Center
- Daily census around 10 patients
- Staffing ratio typically 1:4, occasionally 1:5 during busy admits/discharges
- Labor and Delivery unit handles about 300 deliveries per year
- Two nurses per shift
- OB nurses also care for postpartum patients when no labor patients are present
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications (as applicable)
- BCLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - as required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - as required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - preferred but not required
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as required
Licensing
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Washington State
- NURSYS verification required
Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Cerner system
Additional Requirements
- Proof of I9 or attestation
- Government-issued photo ID
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Education verification upon request
- State-specific background search (Washington State Patrol)
- Physical exam within last 12 months
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with exceptions for past positives)
- Immunizations/vaccinations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Drug screening (9 panel) within 1 year
- Seasonal flu vaccination documentation or declination (for flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
Documentation & Compliance
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
- Performance evaluations if previously worked over 1 year with the agency
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Photo for badge (clear headshot in scrubs, no hats or sunglasses)

- Scrubs are not provided; any color is acceptable
