Job Opportunity: Wound Care Registered Nurse

Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide wound care nursing services.
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 5x8 hour shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM).
  • Floating to other facilities and units for wound care consults as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
  • Minimum of 1 year of wound care experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) certification.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start.
  • Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS Level 3 screenings.
  • Education verification required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Sex offender search required within 90 days of start.
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to California law).
  • Physical exam required within 1 year of start.
  • Fit mask test required within 1 year of start; must be renewed annually.
  • Immunizations and health screenings required, including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, with annual renewal
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)
  • Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and annually.
  • References: 2 professional references required within 3 years for clinical positions.
  • Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps; employment verification required.

Certifications (as applicable)

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
  • Other certifications may be required based on position specifics.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must review and sign various facility-specific documents prior to start, including standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation.
  • Candidates with religious exemptions for vaccines or facial hair must complete specific accommodation forms.
  • Floating to other units and facilities is required as part of the role.

This position is ideal for experienced wound care RNs licensed in California who are comfortable working in a travel/contract capacity with flexibility to float between units.
