Behavioral Health Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Manchester, New Hampshire
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week accepted
- Adult inpatient psychiatric unit with a 1:6 target ratio
- No call required
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend
- Float requirement: may float to PEP and GPU
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid RN license in New Hampshire
- 1 year of psychiatric experience
- Psychiatric experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Qualifications
- Charge nurse experience
Unit Details
- 16-bed locked psychiatric intensive care unit
- Serves adults ages 18 to 64, with some geriatrics depending on milieu
- Typical patient population includes suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, agitation, psychosis, chronic persistent mental illness, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders
- Typical length of stay is 6–9 days
