Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Saint Louis, Missouri
• Night shift: 19:00–07:30
• First week is on day shift, 07:00–17:00
• 36 hours per week
• Patient ratio: 1:4–6
• Every other weekend required
• Floating is within the service line
• No on-call
• No block schedule
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Pending license is accepted
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• RTO limit: no more than 7 days

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Telemetry - remote monitoring
• Experience with Colostomy care
• Experience with Feeding tube care and management
• Experience with Blood Product Administration
• Experience with Central line blood draw
• Experience with Peripheral Line Care/Management
• Phlebotomy skills
• Experience with PICC line management
• IV insertion skills
• Experience with cardiac or critical care drips (Heparin, Insulin, PCA)
• Experience with Epic

Preferred

• Basic knowledge of tele

Unit Details

• RN/MS 6900
• Medical overflow
• High turn-over surgery patient unit
• Diagnoses include ostomy, colon resection, colon cancer, bladder cancer, and GU
• Unit drips include Heparin, Lidocaine, Bicarb, Bivaldirubin, and Amiodarone
• Unit also uses PCAs, Epidurals, and CBIs
• Special procedures include foleys, CBI continuous bladder irrigation, TURPS, and colorectal protocols
