Job Details

  • Shift: Variable start times between 7am and 9am
  • Weekend Requirement: Call only on weekends (8am-4pm), rotated schedule
  • On-Call: Call only on weekends (8am-4pm), rotated
  • Floating: No floating between units required
  • Block Schedule: May be accommodated at manager's discretion
  • Locals: Not accepted
  • Pending License: Not accepted
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Parking: Free parking available

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Years of Experience Required: 1 year (minimum)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
  • First-Timers Accepted: Yes

Certifications Required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • ARRT Certification
  • California State License (CPDH Certificate required for all RTs working in CA)

Additional certifications may be required based on clinical track or unit, including but not limited to:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • Chemotherapy Certification (if applicable)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification (if applicable)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years. Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Nationwide and County checks, Sex Offender Registry, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if applicable), and international background if applicable.
  • E-Verify Attestation required.
  • Education Verification: Required for all candidates; international education requires additional documentation.
  • Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format; 7 years for APN/Subcontractors.
  • References: Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting. For CNAs, 6 months required.
  • Skills Checklist: Required annually for applicable units.
  • Radiation Badge: Facility responsible for issuing radiation badges if applicable.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation.
  • Fit Mask Test: Required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024; must be updated annually.
  • Immunizations and Testing:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer, declination accepted
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer, declination accepted
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required during flu season, declination accepted)
    • COVID-19 Vaccine or Declination
  • Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; instant tests not accepted.

Training and Competency

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable by profession.
  • Competency Exams: Required as applicable by specialty.
  • Color Blind Testing: May be required on a unit basis.
  • WorkRamp Modules:
    • Required for all caregivers except non-clinical, dietary, laboratory, management, medical assistants, radiology/cardiology, respiratory/neuro diagnostics, surgical services, therapy/rehab.
    • Specialty-specific and regional modules required for travel and per diem caregivers in ER, L&D, and leadership roles.
    • Annual regulatory modules required for all candidates.

Additional Notes

  • Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with neutral background required.
  • Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; may be asked to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance.
  • Epic Training: Completion of Epic modules required prior to or shortly after start, depending on region.
  • Respirator Safety Clearance: Required for all new travel starts on or after 2/5/2024; must be medically cleared annually.
