Job Opportunity: RRT Pediatrics
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Specialty

- Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) not accepted
- Pediatric experience required
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience not required
Schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only (RQI and HeartCode acceptable)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only (RQI and HeartCode acceptable)
- Additional preferred certifications include:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (RQI and HeartCode acceptable)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - AHA only (RQI and HeartCode acceptable)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - required for ER candidates
Work Environment
- Charting system: EPIC
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Locals accepted with same rate as travelers
Additional Requirements
- Must have a clear copy of driver’s license or passport
- Background checks including 7-year search, aliases, nationwide, statewide, and national sex offender checks required
- Education verification required
- Competency exams with minimum 80% pass rate required (including Dysrhythmia/EKG for certain units)
- Annual OSHA, HIPAA, Core Parts I-III training required
- Physical exam within 12 months of start, signed by NP, PA, or MD
- Respiratory fit mask test required annually
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination proof
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption annually
- Drug testing (10 panel) within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
- Two professional references within past 2 years required
- Employment history verification for last 7 years required
- Skills checklist updated annually required
