Job Details

- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
- Floating: Occasional floating to other level 3 units
- Holiday Requirements: 1 holiday per contract
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Unit Description: Stroke/AMS unit that also cares for standard medical patients
Experience & Certifications
- Required Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Locals: Not accepted (must live at least 50 miles away from the facility)
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Documentation & Compliance Requirements
- Background Check: Required within 90 days of start; must cover last 7 years and all states lived/worked in
- Education Verification: Diploma/transcript or education verification required
- Physical Exam: Required
- TB Testing: Negative 2-step PPD or Q-gold within 1 year; T-Spots not accepted
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles): Titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
- Mumps: Titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
- Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
- Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination
- Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
- Drug Testing: Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cannabinoids, MDMA, methamphetamines, buprenorphine, oxycodone, fentanyl, cocaine, methadone, tramadol, benzodiazepines, morphine/opiate)
- Flu Vaccination: Required for flu season (October–May) or approved medical/religious exemption prior to start
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Medical and religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation

- Charting System: CERNER
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
- Modules: Completion of facility-specific training modules (~8-10 hours) required before start date
- Photo: Passport-style photo required for badge
- Confidentiality Agreement: Must be signed prior to start
This position offers a structured night shift role on a specialized stroke and medical surgical unit, ideal for nurses with at least one year of experience in the specialty and required certifications. Prior travel experience is not mandatory, and first-time travelers are welcome. Compliance with health screenings, immunizations, and facility-specific onboarding is required.
