Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (GI Lab)

Unit

  • GI Lab

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Virginia
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA only) required for GI Unit
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred but not required for Supplemental Pool Telemetry Nurses
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification) may be required depending on unit specifics; confirm with program management if unclear
  • Pre-employment physical exam within one year, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Fit test within last 12 months (specific mask types required)
  • Negative 11-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if applicable to unit)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (positive titer or vaccination)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt)
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Completion of required competency exams and core training annually
  • Completion of facility-specific documents and acknowledgements prior to start (e.g., confidentiality, code of ethics, dress code, infection control)
  • Completion of online and/or onsite orientation including EPIC training modules as applicable
