Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Los Angeles, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 4x10 hour shifts (Days: 07:00 - 17:30)
- 5 weekdays and 1 weekend per week
Unit Details
- 4 procedure rooms (3 cath lab, 1 dedicated EP lab)
- Caseload: Approximately 3 cases per room
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
- Scrubs Provided
Procedure Types
- Cardiac catheterization and intervention
- Structural heart procedures (TAVR, Mitraclip, Watchman)
- Peripheral vascular angiography and intervention
- EP ablations and device implants
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in Cath Lab, Structural Heart, and EP
- Accepts first-time travelers (no prior travel experience required)
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Fluoroscopy Permit
Required Skills
- Surgery/C-Arm Procedures
- Scrub technique
- PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
- Fluoroscopy studies
- Stents, angioplasty, angiograms
- Peripheral upper/lower extremities vascular/venous studies
Important Notes
- Return to Office (RTO) documentation must be submitted prior to contract start
- Fire Card specific to Los Angeles required (2-week grace period allowed after start)
- Pass/fail testing for Dysrhythmia/EKG may be required onsite
- Physical exam within 1 year required, confirming freedom from communicable disease and ability to perform job duties without limitations
- Drug testing (7-panel) required within 30 days of start
- Various immunizations and health screenings required (e.g., TB test, TDAP, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella) with declination forms accepted where applicable
- Fit mask testing required if applicable to unit
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history and federal exclusions required
- Professional references required (2 for clinical candidates)
- Employment application/resume with at least 1 year relevant experience and 7 years work history required
- Skills checklist updated annually required for licensed workers
Additional Training/Certifications (As Applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred/required for some units
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training for certain roles
- Harassment Prevention Training (California-specific)
- NIH Stroke Certification for certain nursing roles
This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-volume cath lab with advanced structural heart and EP procedures, suitable for candidates with solid cath lab experience and required certifications. First-time travel healthcare workers are welcome to apply.
