Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: Alternating 3x12 hour shifts (days and nights)

• 19:00 - 07:30
• 07:00 - 19:30

Job Details

• Unit: ICU with float requirement to Step Down and CCU
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
• Possible contract extension available
• Scrubs: Not provided
• Blocked schedule: Unit cannot guarantee requests but will try to accommodate travelers
• Attendance: Facility tolerates only 2-3 call offs per contract due to attendance issues

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., TNCC for ER RNs, Chemotherapy certification if applicable)

Required Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of ICU nursing experience
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Required Licenses

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for West Virginia

Required Documentation and Compliance

• Proof of I9 or Attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification and transcript/diploma (if applicable)
• Drug screening (10 panel within 30 days of start, updated annually)
• Physical exam (initial and updated annually)
• Immunizations and health documents:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years, preferred)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within required timeframes)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) titers or vaccinations
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella titer or vaccination
  • Flu seasonal vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination required
• References: Minimum 2 clinical references (within past year)
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Competency exams and core training modules as required
• Facility-specific documents including badge photo, background drug screen consent, non-disclosure agreements, parking pass, and care learning modules
• Completion of Cerner EMR training modules prior to orientation (facility-specific)
• ReadySet (RS) health assessment surveys completed prior to start

• Facility emphasizes strict attendance and compliance with all documentation and training requirements
• Float assignments include Step Down and CCU units
