Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Work Schedule & Requirements

• Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM (rotating days)
• Weeknight call: 1-2 nights per week on average
• Weekend call: Every 1-2 weekends on average
• Block schedule not allowed
• Cases per day: 3-6

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR Tech experience
• Scrub experience required
• Experience with CVOR cases including:

  • CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
  • MVR (Mitral Valve Replacement)
  • AVR (Aortic Valve Replacement)
  • Aortic Root procedures
  • Aortic Dissection
  • LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device)
  • Heart Transplant
  • Lung Transplant
  • Aortic Aneurysm Repair
• General Surgery experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience highly preferred
• DaVinci surgical system experience highly preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Local candidates not accepted (must live more than 100 miles from facility)

Orientation

• Bi-weekly orientation dates available: December 1 or December 15

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as applicable per unit description (AHA certifications)
• State license verification and primary source verification required prior to start
• Tech certification verification (for allied professionals)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background check within 30 days of start, including:

  • SSN trace
  • Education verification
  • Federal Enhanced search
  • Review of criminal history including theft, drug offenses, assault, violent crimes, etc.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and monthly thereafter
• State-specific registry checks (Nebraska DHHS Adult & Child Services Registry) required within 30 days of start
• Drug screening within 60 days of start and updated annually
• References: 2 work references from past 2 years required
• Annual skills checklist required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific mask models required)
• Tdap/Tetanus vaccine within last 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray documentation required annually
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer required; boosters if titers low
• Hepatitis B titer required or declination acceptable
• Varicella vaccination or positive titer required; boosters if titers low
• Flu vaccine preferred (documentation or declination required)
• COVID vaccine preferred; medical/religious exemptions accepted
• Baseline eye exam (Snellen) required within 30 days of start for OR staff
