Registered Nurse – PreOp (Travel/Contract)
Location: Seattle, Washington
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: Up to 4 Saturday shifts per month (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients during day shifts
- Float Requirement: Float between Endocrinology and Ambulatory Procedure Area within scope
- Schedule: Variable days off; block scheduling not accommodated
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- On-call: Not required
- Infusion and procedural experience: Required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
- Minimum 1 year of preoperative nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Demonstrated infusion experience
- Demonstrated procedural experience
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year prior to start (not required by facility but required by agency)
- Fit Mask Test: Required within 12 months of start; must include size, make/model, and date
- Immunizations/Vaccinations:
- Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination form
- Annual Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season: Sept 29 – Mar 31)
- COVID vaccination or declination (for tracking purposes)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of immunity by titer or 2 vaccines after 1968, or declination
- Varicella: Proof of immunity by titer or 2 vaccines, or declination
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or completed vaccine series with re-titer, or declination
- TB testing: Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD within 90 days of start; annual TB questionnaire required
- Drug Screening: Required within past 12 months (agency requirement, not facility)
- Suicide Prevention Training: Required for multi-state licensed nurses working in Washington (6-hour approved course)
- WA Multi-State License Attestations: Required for nurses using out-of-state compact licenses

- Charting System: Epic (hard stop)
- Scrubs: Any solid color scrubs allowed; light blue scrubs provided on unit
- Parking: Onsite parking available with fees; offsite parking with shuttle service available on weekdays
- Orientation: Pass/fail testing with 80% passing score required; includes medication and dysrhythmia exams
- Photo for Badge: Professional waist-up photo required (no hats, clear lighting, simple background)

Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete all pending license requirements, including fingerprinting, prior to starting
- Candidates with positive TB tests must provide chest X-ray and questionnaire before starting
- Candidates declining vaccines must complete facility and agency declination forms and understand potential furlough if contracting communicable diseases
- Returning candidates with more than 1 year gap between assignments must complete new TB testing
- International candidates must have legal authorization to work in the US verified
- Facility requires acknowledgment of pass/fail testing for certain competencies during orientation
