Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
- Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Rotating 4x10 hour shifts (07:00-17:30, 07:00-17:30 late, 10:00-20:30 close as needed)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: Rotating call including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Floating: Yes, within service line scope
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (home address must be at least 75 miles from facility)
- Pending License: Accepted
- Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in a high-volume, high-acuity Cath Lab procedural area with level 1 trauma designation.
- Patient diagnoses commonly include: AMI, Chest pain, Heart failure, NSTEMI, Aortic Stenosis, V-Tach, Endocarditis, Afib, Peripheral vascular disease, Sick sinus syndrome.
- Role includes RN Circulator duties in diagnostic and interventional PCI environment:
- Provide conscious sedation under physician direction
- Handoff sterile supplies
- Assess vitals
- Document in EPIC system
- Cross-training likely to include hemodynamics monitoring (monitor tech role).
- Required interventional scrub experience.
- Equipment used: EPIC documentation system, Impella, IABP.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Missouri (pending licenses accepted).
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients.
Candidate Preferences
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts and on-call.
- Must be able to float within the service line as needed.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID required.
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches.
- Education verification of highest nursing degree.
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
- Fingerprinting required for assignments involving long-term care or rehab units in Illinois.
- Professional license primary source verification (NURSYS for Missouri).
- Unit-specific competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Drug testing within 1 year, including a comprehensive panel.
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2 negative PPDs or T-Spot/Q-Gold within 1 year)
- Tdap vaccine or declination (required every 10 years)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Fit mask testing annually (N95 respirators required).
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and policies (HIPAA, confidentiality, hand hygiene, dress code, fingernail policy).
- Required facility-specific forms including vehicle registration (for day shifts), HIPAA acknowledgment, latex allergy questionnaire, confidentiality form, regulatory compliance education, TB questionnaire, and hepatitis B declination.

- Parking is available with monthly passes; fees vary by lot and shift schedule.
- Orientation parking requires a fee; no reimbursement provided.
- Candidates working straight night shifts may park free in employee lots.
- Candidates must adhere to facility dress code and policies to avoid being sent home.
- Two professional references required; supervisors preferred if available.
- Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist must be completed and uploaded.
- Oncology competency exam required if assigned to Med Surg-Oncology unit.
- Candidates must be prepared for a high-acuity, trauma-level environment with complex cardiac patients.
