Registered Nurse – MedSurg/Telemetry (Travel/Contract)

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; total 36 hours/week)
Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:3

Job Description

• Weekend and rotating holiday shifts required.
• Must float to different units within the organization as needed, including units of equivalent or lower acuity.
• Work primarily on MedSurg and Telemetry units.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
• Minimum 3 years of MedSurg and Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Certifications (may be unit-dependent)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required for certain units starting 11/13/25.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required only for ER, ER OB, and ER Psych units.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required for Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, and OB units.
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification may be required.
• NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit; must be obtained within 1 year of start and renewed every 2 years.
• Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement required.
• State license verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start.

Additional Information

• Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required.
• Parking options available with varying costs and shuttle services.
• Candidates must review and sign facility dress code and hand hygiene policies.
• Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually.
• Confidential Fraud Waste Abuse and Compliance Reporting Mechanism form required.
• Background check and fingerprinting processes are time-sensitive and must be completed prior to start. Pending fingerprint results require a specific attestation.

Work Environment

• Night shift with 3 twelve-hour shifts per week.
• Floating to various units within the organization as needed.
• Patient acuity level consistent with MedSurg and Telemetry units.

This position is ideal for experienced MedSurg RNs with telemetry skills who are comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays, and who are flexible to float across units. Prior travel experience is a plus.
