Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Billings, Montana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 48
Job Description
- Work on Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit.
- Must float to Pediatrics and NICU; may "safety sit" on any unit.
- Care for laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and couplets (mother and newborn).
- Experience with high-risk pregnancy and antepartum patients is a plus.
- Call requirement: 3-4 call shifts per 8-week block.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Montana.
- Minimum 2 years of Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) experience, including experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Current Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Demonstrated Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid government photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport).
- Background checks including:
- 7-year criminal background check (must be renewed annually).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- Education verification of highest level completed.
- NURSYS license verification within 30 days of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year stating good health and ability to perform job duties.
- Quantitative fit test with 3M mask within 90 days prior to start (renewed annually).
- Negative drug screen within 30 days of start (renewed annually).
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low/equivocal).
- Hepatitis B: Positive IGG titer, 3-dose vaccine series, or declination within last year.
- Varicella: Positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low/equivocal).
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: TDAP vaccine within 10 years or signed declination preferred.
- Seasonal Flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31) or approved exemption.
- COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray with annual renewal and supporting TB questionnaire if applicable.
Additional Requirements
- Two references required, including one direct supervisor reference within the last year.
- Current employment application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days.
- Employment verification preferred for last 5 years.
- Skills checklist as applicable.
Notes
- This position requires prior travel experience; first-time travelers will not be considered.
- Floating to Pediatrics and NICU is mandatory.
- Call shifts are required as part of the schedule.
