Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU

- Day shift
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Total 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications
- Ohio State license required for RRTs
- Prefer close to 2 years of experience in specialty (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)
- 2 professional supervisory references required (1 must be a supervisor or manager; peer references not accepted)
- Floating to other units is required for most positions
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification required for RRTs
- Current government-issued photo ID matching legal name on license and certifications
- Must have completed all required background checks and verifications within specified timeframes (see Compliance Requirements)
Certifications (must be current and verifiable, no screenshots/photos)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AHA/AAP only (required for NICU RNs)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – as applicable
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – as applicable
- State license verification within 30 days of start
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked)
- Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or equivalent
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting within 60 days of start (must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing contract)
- Sex offender search within 30 days of start
- State-specific searches including Ohio Nurse Aide Registry, Inmate Registry, Medicaid Exemption, and Abuse Registry within 30 days of start
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 60 days prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within last year, with additional requirements if positive
- Annual N95 fit testing required (acceptable masks specified)
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 31 - May 31); medical/religious exemptions require facility approval and mask-wearing during flu season
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required (one dose as adult, no titer substitution)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity required (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if negative/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination required
Additional Requirements
- Legal name on all documents must match license and certifications exactly (including middle name if listed)
- Address on driver’s license must match address on RRT license
- If Ohio driver’s license address is within 60 miles of facility, candidate will be considered local
- Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually
- Resume or employment application copy required
Notes
- Fingerprint results may pend at start; facility can complete fingerprints onsite if necessary
- Candidates undergoing name changes must provide proof and may require approval
- Physical exam not required by facility if Infection Control Policy is signed; however, agency standard requires physical exam within 1 year of start
