Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Billings, Montana
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Cath Lab RN position working four 10-hour day shifts per week.
• On-call requirement: one night per week and one weekend per month.
• Scrubs provided.
• Locals not accepted; candidate must live 75+ miles from the facility.
• First-time travel nurses accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana.
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting system.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport).
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and education verification.
• Employment application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days.
• Two references required, including one direct supervisor reference within the last year.
• Employment verification preferred for the last 5 years.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, or PA, confirming good health and ability to perform job duties.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray with annual renewal.
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, vaccine series, or declination within last year)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 31 – Mar 31) or approved exemption.
• COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption.
• Negative drug screen within 30 days of start, including a comprehensive 9-panel test plus additional substances. Must be renewed annually.
• Quantitative fit test with a 3M mask within 90 days prior to start (qualitative tests not accepted). Must be clean-shaven; religious exemptions evaluated case-by-case.

Additional Notes

• Facility-specific OSHA form required for onsite fit testing.
• Candidate must not have previously worked at this facility or hospital system.
• Skills checklist and other competency verifications required as applicable.

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs seeking a travel contract with day shifts and a structured call schedule.
