Job Opportunity: Step Down Registered Nurse

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (Step Down) on the night shift (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Must pass an online EKG Telemetry competency assessment prior to starting
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required
• Floating required: may be assigned to other specialty clusters or units including High Risk Respiratory Unit/COVID at employer’s discretion
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays
• Employer reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts during the contract due to low census and may cancel the contract with 2 weeks’ notice without penalty

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Certifications (as applicable)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred for some units but not required for Step Down
• Other certifications such as NRP, TNCC, EFM, CPI are not required for this assignment

Additional Requirements

• Must complete a medical questionnaire for respiratory protection prior to orientation
• Must provide proof of immunizations or immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B (vaccination series, titer, or declination)
• TB screening: negative PPD, Tspot, or Qgold acceptable; if past positive TB, must provide chest x-ray and annual questionnaire
• Employment application or current resume required
• Must be able to float to other units as needed

Work Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
• Every other weekend and holiday availability required

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses comfortable with telemetry-level care, floating between units, and working night shifts in a progressive care environment.
