Job Opportunity: RN - Float Pool (Nights)

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

• Unit: Float Pool (32-bed, fast-paced)
• Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatric
• Nurse-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:6, may increase to 1:8 (nurses must be willing to take 8 patients when needed)
• Nurse will float to multiple units including:

  • Medical-Surgical (MS)
  • Cardiology
  • Medicine
  • Orthopedics
  • Surgical
  • Neurology
  • Oncology

Required Skills & Competencies

General Nursing Skills

• IV insertion
• PICC/Central Line management
• Vascular device access and care

Ortho/MS/Oncology Skills

• Traction
• Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) devices
• Epidural/PCA pumps
• Feeding tubes
• Wound Vac management

Cardiac Skills

• Remote Telemetry monitoring and interpretation

Airway Skills

• CPAP/BiPAP management
• Tracheostomy care

Equipment Familiarity

• IV pumps
• Telemetry monitors
• Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs)
• PCA pumps
• Patient lifts and gait belts
• CO2 monitoring devices

Certifications & Requirements

• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Must provide current CEU documentation during compliance process

Additional Information

• Schedule flexibility required; downstaffing possible with 36-48 hours notice during the 13-week contract
• Remote telemetry experience required

• Specialty: Nursing
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years (based on certification and skill requirements)
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required for this position
