Job Description

• Perform computed tomography (CT) procedures and related imaging techniques.
• Administer x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
• May be required to alternate shifts, including weekends, holidays, and take call.
• Flex hours and overtime as necessary to provide quality patient care.
• Perform diagnostic CT procedures; may also perform radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable radiographic exams if assigned.
• Corroborate patient's clinical history with procedure and ensure documentation for radiologist use.
• Prepare patients for procedures, provide instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
• Select and operate imaging equipment and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
• Position and immobilize patients as necessary while respecting patient comfort.
• Practice aseptic technique as needed.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and start/maintain intravenous access as appropriate.
• Initiate basic life support actions when necessary.
• Provide patient education.
• Assist with supply and equipment decisions; maintain inventory control.
• Provide practical instruction for students and partners.
• Observe universal protocol, standard precautions, and patient identifiers.
• Apply patient safety principles during all procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT Radiography (R) certification
• ARRT Computed Tomography (CT) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Additional Information

• Schedule: Days, 40 hours per week.
• Prior travel experience: Not specified (assumed not required).
