Speech Therapist - Contract Position

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (36 hours per week)

Job Summary

Assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders to help patients improve communication and safe swallowing abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care including assessments and treatment of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Complete patient documentation such as initial evaluations, plans of care, progress notes, and discharge reports.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding patient benefits.
• Prepare for evaluation and treatment sessions.
• Educate staff (nurses, physicians, dietitians, food service workers) on evaluation results and recommendations based on current research.
• Develop and deliver in-service presentations and educational opportunities for staff.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure patient-centered treatment.
• Maintain cleanliness of treatment rooms after sessions.
• Provide reminder calls to patients.
• Assist patients and families in navigating the hospital environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Wisconsin
• Current BLS certification

Additional Information

• Full-time hours, Monday through Friday.
• No prior travel experience explicitly required.
• Specialty: Rehabilitation Therapy (Speech Therapy).
