Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR)

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
Number of Suites: 16 total (3 CVOR suites)
Average Cases per Day: 30 (including 1-2 open heart cases daily)
Common Cases: Open heart surgery, TAVR, Open/Endovascular procedures, Thoracic surgery
EMR System: Epic

Schedule & Call Requirements

Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (shift negotiable)
Weeknight Call: One weekday per week
Weekend Call: One weekend day per month (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, rotating with staff)
Holiday Call: Not required but preferred if available
Call Response Time: 30 minutes (call room available on site)

Job Responsibilities

Scrubbing: Required to scrub in to hold the heart and assist with closing the chest
Floating: May float to General OR or PRN; in extreme need, may float within nearby zones/facilities
Orientation: 1 week, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM with call required during orientation
Dress Code: Hospital-provided light blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

License: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Certifications: BLS (AHA) required; ACLS preferred
Experience: Open Heart and/or Endovascular experience required
Prior travel experience: Not specified

Additional Notes

Must be in-state for the week of orientation, even if some modules are remote
Driving license must be submitted (radius up to 60 miles)

This position is ideal for experienced CVOR RNs with strong open heart or endovascular surgical experience seeking a 13-week contract in Colorado Springs.
