Job Opportunity: COTA (Occupational Therapy Assistant)

Location: Pipestone, Minnesota

Job Description

• Administer and perform therapeutic interventions with clients.
• Assess clients’ needs and develop therapy plans accordingly.
• Safeguard clients’ property and maintain their self-esteem, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Assist in keeping clients’ living areas pleasant and orderly.
• Document observations and services provided.
• Notify physicians of changes and process orders; consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Train clients, family members, and staff on interventions and equipment.
• May supervise therapy assistants as per federal and state regulations.
• Follow infection control and safety standards.
• Use software: Net Health (SNF) and HCHB (Home Health).
• Cover Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Home Health settings.
• Mileage and drive time between locations and patients in Home Health are billable.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited speech/language pathology program preferred.
• Prior work experience in rehabilitation or geriatrics setting preferred.
• Certification for the state of practice required.
• Basic speech/language pathology skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Experience Requirements

• Specialty Experience: Not explicitly stated; preference for prior rehabilitation/geriatrics experience.
