Job Opportunity: Medical Dosimetrist

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Weekend/Holiday Requirements: None
Call Requirement: 1 hour response time


Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License (used to verify candidate location within 50 miles)

Experience & Skills

  • Dosimetry training and certification required
  • Experience with Eclipse and Aria systems
  • Familiarity with External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT) planning only
  • Experience with treatment types including:
    • 3D-CRT, IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, VMAT
    • External Beam (Eclipse External Beam)
  • Knowledge of Radiation Oncology treatment planning and presenting plans to Radiation Oncologists
  • Experience with Epic hospital EMR, PACS, MIM, Radformation software preferred

Job Duties

  • Develop external beam radiation treatment plans
  • Present treatment plans to Radiation Oncologists
  • Perform quality assurance related to dosimetry
  • Work as part of a core dosimetrist staff managing approximately 60 patients on treatment
  • Use Varian TruBeam and Edge equipment

Additional Information

  • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to comply may result in contract termination
  • Candidates may not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
  • Dress code: Gray scrubs or business casual
  • Department-specific orientation provided onsite by department manager
