Registered Nurse (Inpatient Surgical - MedSurg)

Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks

Job Details

Specialty: Inpatient Surgical (MedSurg)
Shift: Days (6:45 AM - 7:00 PM)
Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 48 hours per week
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
Nurse Aides/CNA ratio: Generally 1:8 to 1:10, with occasional 1:1 and sitters
Floating: Required; MedSurg nurses float to Ortho, Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW units
Telemetry: Yes, monitored on different units
Ventilator support includes BIPAP, CPAP (only at HS), Vapotherm, Draeger
IV Team: None, but PICC lines are used
Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24/7
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Call Requirement: On-call during low census
Holidays: Rotate with permanent staff
Floor-specific orientation provided
Scrub color: Caribbean Blue
Must be flexible with changing assignments during the shift

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Georgia
Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Completion of at least 1 prior travel assignment
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIHSS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Valid Driver's License

Additional Information

Strict 75-mile radius rule for traveler's address verification
Common patient diagnoses vary; MedSurg nurses may care for patients in Ortho, Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW units
OB/Neonatologist available in-house
C-section experience: Not required
