Overview

• Role: LDRP RN
• Location: Westminster, Colorado
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts

Unit

• Unit: L&D/PP/MB
• Beds / rooms: 15 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 3 triage beds, 18 postpartum beds
• Delivery volume: Around 160-200 deliveries per month

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
• NRP
• STABLE Certification
• Must be able to titrate drips
• Must be available in state for the week of orientation, even if first-day modules are remote
• Driver’s license must be submitted

Clinical / Unit Details

• Follows AWHONN guidelines for ratios
• Common drips include Pitocin
• Charge nurse helps with triage
• 1-2 surgical techs are on per shift
• Postpartum has CNAs trained to help the tech and secretary
• OB is in house, NNP is in house, and Neo is 30 minutes out
• Anesthesia is in house 24/7
• RT equipment is available, mostly for NICU
• Tele strips are monitored by a tele room using Phillips
• EFM system: OBIX

Scheduling / Logistics

• Self-scheduling is allowed
• Weekend requirement: 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
• Holiday coverage as needed
• May be placed on call for the remainder of the shift if not needed
• Floating: between LDRP; in an extreme need, may float within Zone 3: OCH, LUH, SAH, SAN
• Orientation: 2 shifts
• Call expectation: 2-12 hour shifts per month
• If low censused, the RN remains on call and must be available to come in if census changes
