Required Qualifications

Active RN license in California
BLS certification
NRP certification
2+ years of NICU experience

Community Level 3 NICU
14 beds
Typical patient ratios: 1:1 to 1:3
Charge nurse present
No nurse aides
No floating
3-shift unit orientation

Clinical Environment

Ventilator support available
Neonatologist or pediatrician on call 24/7
Respiratory therapy available 24/7
Pharmacy available 24/7
Common patient types include sepsis rule-outs, preterm and late preterm infants, IDGDM, NAS, and readmissions

Additional Notes

COVID vaccine required
Navy blue scrubs
Cerner used for charting
Phillips tele monitoring
Holidays are worked into the core rotation
