NICU RN Travel Assignment

Location

  • Santa Cruz, California

Schedule

  • Nights
  • 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license in California
  • BLS certification
  • NRP certification
  • 2+ years of NICU experience

Unit Details

  • Community Level 3 NICU
  • 14 beds
  • Typical patient ratios: 1:1 to 1:3
  • Charge nurse present
  • No nurse aides
  • No floating
  • 3-shift unit orientation

Clinical Environment

  • Ventilator support available
  • Neonatologist or pediatrician on call 24/7
  • Respiratory therapy available 24/7
  • Pharmacy available 24/7
  • Common patient types include sepsis rule-outs, preterm and late preterm infants, IDGDM, NAS, and readmissions

Additional Notes

  • COVID vaccine required
  • Navy blue scrubs
  • Cerner used for charting
  • Phillips tele monitoring
  • Holidays are worked into the core rotation
