Role Summary

3E Tele RN on a 33-bed cardiac/telemetry floor with a mixed population of post cardiac surgeries, thoracotomies with chest tubes, cardiac drips, atrial fibrillation, and medical patients requiring tele monitoring.

Required Qualifications

RN (Registered Nurse)
BLS required
ACLS

Clinical Responsibilities

Titrate drips
Read telemetry strips once per shift and with rhythm changes
Assist with CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow on the floor
May be pulled to the Floors

Unit Details

33 beds
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-6 depending on acuity
Charge nurse is on each shift and most of the time takes an assignment
Care techs are present at about 1:15
Centralized tele monitoring

Schedule

Nights, 12-hour shifts
36 hours per week
Self-scheduling, subject to change to maintain a balanced schedule
6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
2 summer holidays and 3 winter holidays
1-2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation
EOW
