• Specialty: OR Tech (Operating Room Technician)
• Location: Winnemucca, Nevada
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, 4 x 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 40 hours
• Call Requirements:

  • 1-2 weeknights per week (5:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
  • 1 weekend per month (Friday 5:00 PM - Monday 6:30 AM)
  • Call on major holidays, rotating with core staff
  • Call response time: 20 minutes

Job Description

• Work in a small hospital setting with 2 OR suites and 1 procedure room
• Case volume varies from 0 to 12 cases per day
• When case volume is low, assist with supplies and other departmental tasks
• Common cases include General Surgery, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Urology, OB (including C-sections), GYN, Pain Management, Cardiology (pacemakers, TEEs), and endoscopy
• Mostly adult cases with occasional pediatric ortho or appendectomies
• Opportunity to help SPD (Sterile Processing Department) on call is a plus

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Surgical Technician experience within the last year
• Experience as an Endoscopy Technician
• BLS Certification

Additional Information

• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor manages shift scheduling and is available on site
• Orientation varies, typically 3-4 days in the department
• No floating requirements except occasional help in SPD
• Scrub color provided by the hospital
• Candidates should have researched housing options in the area prior to submission
• Small town living with many outdoor activities and nearby state parks
