Intermediate Care RN

Location: Bloomington, Illinois
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

ACLS (AHA)
BLS (AHA)
NIHSS
Must be able to read telemetries
Must be comfortable with chest tubes

Job Details

Inpatient acute floor
32 beds, all private rooms
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 3-4 patients per nurse
Travel RN works three 12-hour shifts with rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
Travel RNs are first to float
May float to ICU if extensive ICU experience is present; otherwise may float to general medicine floors
Assignment examples include ICU: 2 patients; Gen Med: 5-6 patients

Unit Focus

Care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including COPD, CHF, diabetes, sepsis, renal, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, other respiratory conditions, neuro/surgical/cardiac patients, Bipap, Cpap, trachs, chest tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, ablation/cath lab patients, and dialysis
