Travel RN - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Unit: CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
• Number of Beds: 2 OH Surgical Suites
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 2 RNs, 2 Techs
  • Night Shift: On-call
• Patient Ratio: 2:1
• Equipment: Open Heart instrumentation and supplies, TEE equipment, Ultrasound
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Call Requirements: On-call approximately every other day and every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years current experience in acute CVOR setting
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Procedures: Experience with CABG, MVR, AVR, Pacemaker, laser lead extractions, some Thoracic and endovascular procedures, standby for TVAR and mitral clips
• Preferred: Experience in minimally invasive cardiac procedures

Job Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate healthcare services for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Ensure sterile procedures are followed throughout surgery
• Ensure necessary equipment and medications are available for the OR team
• Record progress and outcomes of surgical procedures
• Ensure proper handling of specimens
• Provide quality control and ensure patient safety at all times
• May provide lunch relief in other service lines including Vascular, Robotics, General, Ortho, Neuro/Spine, Urology, Podiatry, Thoracic Surgery, and Plastic Surgery

• Scrubs are provided by the facility (OR/CVOR scrub color)
