Travel RN Opportunity – Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Russellville, Arkansas
Facility Type: 170-bed, Joint Commission Accredited hospital with specialized programs including Chest Pain Center and AHA Stroke Program Award

Position Details

• Specialty: Med Surg Telemetry (Med Surg TELE)
• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

• Unit: Inpatient Med Surg (Department/Cost Center: Med Surg 610)
• Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
• Patient Ratios: 6-7 patients per nurse
• EHR System: Meditech

Job Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for assigned patients throughout the shift in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Identify actual and potential patient needs through nursing assessments to develop prioritized care plans.
• Supervise and assign patient care duties to LPNs, Nursing Assistants, and Unit Clerks based on acuity and staff proficiency.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency and life-threatening situations.
• Document assessments, care plans, interventions, patient/family education, and responses to interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments including IV meds, blood products, hyper-alimentation, epidural analgesia, patient-controlled analgesia, and chemotherapy.
• Maintain a safe patient and work environment by following infection control and safety policies.
• Receive, document, and follow up on physician orders, ensuring proper execution per policy.

Requirements

• Experience: 1-2+ years recent acute care experience
• Certifications:

  • CPR (required)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license for Arkansas
• Float Requirements: Must be able to float to all Med/Surg floors
• Call Requirements: Occasional call no more than once per month, typically not impacting travel staff
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend minimum, possibly fewer

Additional Information

• The facility overlooks scenic areas including Lake Dardanelle and the Ozarks, with recreational opportunities nearby.
• Must be located more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify as travel.
