Job Opportunity: RRT - Respiratory Therapy
Location: Portland, Maine
Employment Type: Travel
Position Details
- Specialty: Respiratory Therapy (RRT)
- Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted)
- Call Requirements: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift
- Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience: 3+ years in Respiratory Therapy (highest requirement between 2 and 3 years)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Skills & Certifications
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- Preferred Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for NICU
Job Responsibilities & Float Requirements
- Float as RRT with some coverage in NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, adult acute, and critical care
- Experience in tertiary, teaching hospital settings and level 1 trauma centers required
- Preferred experience with NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic patients
Unit & Patient Information
- Number of Beds: Varies daily, covering entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs
- Patient Ratios:
- Acute care: 1:25
- Critical care: 1:8
- Equipment Used:
- Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators
- Hamilton T1 and C1 ventilators
- Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line
- Airvo, Vapotherm
- EMR System: EPIC
Personality & Dress Code
- Personality Fit: Flexible, team player, great communication skills
- Scrub Color: Provided or flexible
