CST/ORT - First Assist

Location

  • Salem, Virginia

Schedule

  • 10-hour shifts
  • Rotating call on weeknights and weekends
  • 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Surgical First Assistant license in Virginia
  • Surgical First Assistant experience within the last year
  • 2 years of experience as a Surgical First Assistant
  • BLS
  • OR First Assist Certification
  • VA Board of Medicine Registration
  • Proficiency in Orthopedic procedures
  • Proficiency in DaVinci robotic surgery
  • Proficiency in Neuro procedures

Skills / Experience

  • Proficiency in orthopedics, da Vinci, neurosurgery, and orthopedic trauma

Unit Details

  • First Assist role in a 10-room main operating room
  • No floating
  • Each room has 1 circulator and 1 surgical technologist
  • Scrubs provided

Procedures

  • Craniotomy
  • Spine fusion
  • Liver resection
  • Whipple procedure
  • MAKO total joint
