Overview

Travel RN role in Asheville, North Carolina.
Unit is based on the 5th floor of Owen Heart Center (Heart Tower).
40-bed cardiac stepdown/progressive care unit.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Cardiac Stepdown experience
2 years of Cardiac Stepdown experience
Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
Stepdown experience
Telemetry experience
Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex, or Lasix
BLS
ACLS

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with prostacyclins such as Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin
Relief charge experience

Unit Details

Patient population includes CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, post cardiac cath/stent, and post pacer/ICD/ablation
Typical procedure performed: bedside cardioversion
Equipment includes Zoll, Baxter pump, lift equipment, and bladder scanner
EMR: Cerner

Floating

May float to MedSurg units, Stepdown units, COVID unit, and ER holding

Schedule

36 hours per week
Every other weekend
