Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Location: Beckley, West Virginia

Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed

Call Requirements:

• 1 night per week
• 1 weekend per month (every other/as needed)
  Float Requirements: As needed, interdepartmental

Unit & Patient Population

• Operating Room with 7 OR rooms
• Trauma Level III facility
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Serves all ages (pediatric, adult, geriatric)
• Electronic Health Record system: Meditech

Job Role & Responsibilities

• Circulating nurse in specialties including General Surgery, Gynecology, Vascular, Orthopedics, Urology, Podiatry, and da Vinci Robotic Surgery
• Potential for coverage/call on weekends
• Professional demeanor required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs biweekly on Wednesdays
• Scrubs provided by the facility; casual or other facility-branded attire is not allowed
• The facility treats approximately 13,000 patients annually and has a busy emergency department with over 50,000 visits per year
• The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission
• Offers instructional programs for nursing and allied health students

Preferred Experience

• Experience as an OR Scrub or Circulator is preferred
