Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, every other weekend (EOW) required
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Provide delegated direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse on a busy Medical Surgical unit with quick turnover.
• Responsible for clinical decision-making based on education, experience, State Board of Nursing rules, and hospital policies.
• Duties include physical examination and data collection, activities of daily living (ADLs), patient education, medication administration, peripheral IV therapy, discharge planning, implementation of physician’s orders, and documentation.
• May occasionally float to ICU to care for Medical Surgical Overflow or Step Down patients.
• Required to float as needed, but rarely.
• Call is rarely required.
• Patient ratio typically 1:6, sometimes up to 1:7.
• Unit uses Cerner and Mindray Telemetry EMR systems.
• Scrubs color: Royal Blue.

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN/LVN license in New Mexico.
• Minimum 1 year of LPN/LVN experience within the last year.
• Medical Surgical (Med Surg) experience.
• BLS certification required.
• IV certification required.
