Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Location

• Spruce Pine, North Carolina
• Acute Care Unit, 2nd Floor, Main Hospital Building
• 25 inpatient beds (up to 27 including ED holds)

Employment Type

• Travel assignment
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Day Shift Staffing: Charge nurse + 4-5 RNs + 2-3 PCTs/HUC (House Supervisor on weekends)
• Night Shift Staffing: Charge nurse + 4-5 RNs + 2-3 PCTs (House Supervisor every night)
• Patient care equipment includes BiPAP, Vapotherm, Lifts, Baxter Pumps, Telemetry, and Continuous O2
• Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner
• Floating area: Emergency Department (ED)
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Scheduling: Rotating weekends with flexible scheduling required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Required certifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Telemetry experience

Preferred Experience

• ICU experience (preferred)
