Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 12-hour shifts (Day/Night variable: 7a-7p / 7p-7a)
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• May be placed on call during low census periods with minimum 2-hour callback pay

Unit Details

• Post Surgical Care Unit (PSCU)
• 40-bed inpatient unit providing care for pre- and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio:

  • Day/PM: 1:4 or 1:5
  • Night: 1:5 to 1:7
• Fast-paced unit with 10-15 admissions per day, occupancy 90-95% during the week
• Average length of stay: 2-3 days (except joint patients)
• Requires ability to multitask, prioritize patient care, and work as a team

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2+ years Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Recent hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Experience with equipment such as Rovers for medication scanning and Alaris pumps

Certifications Required

• Wisconsin RN License
• BLS

Additional Information

• Must comply with Aspirus policy requiring flu and COVID vaccination or wear a mask at all times during flu season
• Float to all inpatient units with appropriate patient assignments
• Scrub color: any color
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours with potential call-back pay if called in

This position is ideal for experienced Medical-Surgical RNs with trauma experience and prior travel assignments who are comfortable working in a fast-paced post-surgical care environment.
