Physical Therapy Assistant Position

Location: Ruidoso, New Mexico

Job Summary

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, you will apply a variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical and developmental disorders. You will treat patients to improve physical function and developmental outcomes, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan.

Essential Duties

• Oversee and ensure a comprehensive rehabilitation program addressing physical, psychosocial, and environmental well-being of patients.
• Promote patient and caregiver self-determination by optimizing use of outside resources to achieve maximum independence.
• Coordinate and communicate with various disciplines or services involved in patient care.
• Work towards discharge goals established at initial evaluation and throughout the episode of care.
• Act as a patient advocate.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years current experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Must be a team player, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Certifications & Licensure

• New Mexico state Physical Therapy Assistant license required.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross).
